During the two weeks leading up to the Thanksgiving game every year, student bodies at the University of Iowa and the University
of Nebraska-Lincoln will compete in a “Penny War.”
This year's competition ran from Monday, November 7 to Friday, November 18.
Student organizations at each campus will battle to raise the most money, and
the winning student body this year will decide the benefactor of the money
raised in next year’s Penny War.
All money raised in the 2011 Penny
War will benefit the Armed Forces Aid Campaign, which helps soldiers and their families.
